The first foals by Royal Ascot Group 2 Coventry winner Rajasinghe were offered at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale this week. An outstanding sprinting son of Choisir who ran the fastest ever recorded time for a two-year-old over six furlongs at Royal Ascot, Rajasinghe has been extremely well supported in his first two seasons at Stud.
This week at Tattersalls his foals have been incredibly popular, with his top priced foal Lot 453 – a colt ex winning Verglas mare Louya – being purchased for 46,000gns by Redpender Stud. Another highlight was Lot 256, a colt from a half-sister to Listed winner VAN ELLIS was purchased by Larry Stratton for 37,000gns.
The Rajasinghe foals sold on Day 1 of the sale averaged 30,666gns, which is over 10 times his 2021 service fee of £3,000. Rajasinghe also finished Day 1 as Leading First Season Sire by average.
