First class service and good communication are the keys to our success

Our team work alongside some of the industry’s most well respected vets and farriers; making sure that you and your horse receive the best possible standard of care at every stage of the process.  Regardless of whether your horse is resident with us on a permanent basis, or boarding for just a short period of time, you will be updated regularly and owners are always welcome to visit.

Permanent Boarding

Horses resident with us on a permanent basis benefit from a preferential boarding rate and are cared for year round by our team of highly skilled stud staff.  The whole process is taken care of for you, from regular farrier and worming routines, to registrations and vaccinations.

Seasonal boarding

We welcome seasonal boarders visiting our own stallions or other Newmarket based stallions.  Our vets are on site every day during the breeding season, so your mare is seen as and when she needs to be.  When she’s ready to be covered we take care of booking transport and make sure that all of the necessary paperwork is in order.

Our foaling boxes are purpose built to cater for mares and their new-born foals.  Pregnant mares are cared for 24 hours a day with a member of our experienced staff always on hand to make sure that when the time comes, your mare is cared for quickly and efficiently.

Every foal is given a thorough new-born exam by our vets, including the necessary blood tests and conformation examinations; we work in close contact with them to devise a suitable regime for every foal during the vital first few days of life.  After foaling we’ll send you a detailed foaling report, and photos of your new arrival taken during the first 48 hours after birth will follow.

Please note:  The National Stud will not accept mares for foaling unless they are fully up to date with EHV vaccinations.
