Sales & Temporary Boarding

Future champions

The National Stud is building a reputation for its sales consignments and our recent results show our success.

In 2009 we consigned the dam of Group performer Gallagher for 200,000gns at the December Mares Sale.  At the same sale in 2010 we consigned numerous well bred Group winners and dams of stakes winners including the mare Belesta for an outstanding 280,000gns.  We also successfully consigned some of Cockney Rebel’s first crop yearlings who have realised over 7 times his 2008, £10,000 stud fee.

Preparing your foals, yearlings and mares to the highest standard for the sales is essential in obtaining the best price possible for them. At the National Stud, we pride ourselves on ensuring that each horse gets the finest individual attention.

In recent years mares consigned by the National Stud have consistently realised prices over their expected sums.

We work closely with vets, farriers and our Dodson and Horrell nutritionist to ensure that each individual arrives at the sales in peak condition. Between 2006 and 2008 our top lots at the yearling sales have realised up to 100,000gns.

Daily exercise and sales practice ensures that our foals are comfortable with all aspects of their daily management that will give them a solid grounding to progress to yearling preparation and beyond. We again work with a strong team to ensure that all the foals obtain the highest achievable price. We are more than happy to advise on the sales process and enter your mares, foals and yearlings in to the appropriate sale on your behalf.
