European Champion 3yo

As a Champion son of High Chaparral, Toronado’s appeal to breeders has never been in doubt, but the arrival of his first crop of foals has only served to consolidate our beliefs further.  From a world class book of mares his 2016 foals are mirroring their sire in both looks and athleticism.

His career at stud goes from strength to strength and the quality of these first foals ensured that he was supported by the industry’s leading breeders who sent many of their best mares again in the 2016 season.

In his first two seasons at stud Toronado has covered 262 mares, among them an incredible 134 Black Type performers or dams of Black Type performers. The dams of Harbour Law (Gr.1), Zafeen (Gr.1), Darasim (Gr.2), Beacon (Gr.2) and Stormy
Antarctic (Gr.3) are among those covered; add to these Gr.1 performing mares like Zagora, Shotgun Gulch, Eden’s Moon, Winning Express, Strawberrydaiquiri, Something Exciting, Karmifira and Scarlet Strike and it’s clear to see why we are so
positive about what is to come for Toronado.

With the best of starts, His Excellency Sheikh Joaan Al Thani’s Dual Gr.1 winning Champion miler looks set to be as much of a success at stud as he was on the racetrack.

His first crop will be yearlings in 2017.
