Classic Winner and Sire of Black Type Winners
Precocious enough to win a Stakes race at 2, SILVER PATRIARCH progressed to
become Champion 3yo Stayer in Europe in 1997, winning the Gr.1 Doncaster St Leger, a Gr.3
Derby trial, and finishing a short head 2nd in the Gr.1 Epsom Derby.
At 4 he won both the Gr.1 Coronation Cup and the
Gr.1 Gran Premio del Jockey Club and was 2nd in the
Gr.1 Irish St Leger, while at 5 he captured two
Gr.2's and was again Gr.1 placed.
His outstanding race record and high class pedigree have made him highly
popular with breeders and he has been fully booked since going to stud.
Silver Patriarch is producing black type
winners and placed horses under both sets
of rules. On the Flat his winners include
PARTY BOSS, who tallied a remarkable 6
straight wins (from 7f to 11/2 m) over his 2yo
and 3yo campaigns, including 2 Listed
wins. Notable National Hunt performers
have included Grade 2 hurdler, RIMSKY,
3-times winner and placed on 4 occasions,
and FUNNY TIMES, dual winner and twice
runner up from 6 starts, including a Listed
National Hunt Flat Race win.
