Summer Regional Courses 2016


This year The National Stud together with our partners The Racing Foundation and The Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association will be taking our courses out and about this summer. The theme for two one day courses is “The Fundamentals of Thoroughbred Stud Management”, which kick off on Wednesday 20th July at Plumpton College, East Sussex followed by a day at Exeter Racecourse, Devon on 27th July. With a superb line up of speakers and topics these summer regional courses are a great opportunity to hear the latest on nutritional and veterinary research and update you knowledge on key topics in Thoroughbred Stud Management.

Topics include: Nutrition and Feeding broodmares, Worming Programmes and Recent Developments, Success at Equine First Aid, Biosecurity on the Stud Farm – emergency procedures and Reproductive Management of the Broodmare.

Speakers include: Dr Imogen Burrows BVetMed CertAVP (EM), Advanced Veterinary Practitioner at Cliffe Equine Clinic, Dr Charlie Pinkham BVCS MRVCS from Pinkham Equine Veterinary Services, Saracen Horse Feed’s Lizzie Drury MSC RNUTR and Simon Joyner MA VetMB CertAVP MRCVS from Western Counties Hospital.

This event is free to all TBA members, the courses run from 10am – 3.00pm and a buffet lunch and refreshments are included.
