Stallions make promising start to yearling sales season

National Stud stallions Bahamian Bounty and Pastoral Pursuits made an excellent start to the UK yearling sales season today as the Doncaster Premier Yearing Sale got under way.

Bahamian Bounty's top lot of the day was lot 137, bay colt out of the mare Dust (Green Desert), who is a regular visitor to our stallions.  The colt was consigned by Rathbarry Stud and sold to David Barker for £42,000 (over 4 times his 2009 stud fee).  Further success followed when two fillies out of the mares Dansa Queen and Halland Park Girl (pictured above) sold for £20,000 and £34,000 respectively.

Pastoral Pursuits faired even better when a chesnut filly out of the mare Clarice Orsini (Common Grounds) was sold by Tally Ho Stud.  Lot 101 was knocked down to Amanda Skiffington for an amazing £65,000 - a staggering 14 times his 2009 nomination fee!
