New for 2017 - MARCEL

New for 2017 - MARCEL

We are delighted to announce that Marcel will join our roster of stallions at The National Stud.

Standing on behalf of his owner, Paul Makin, Marcel was the impressive winner of the Gr.1 Racing Post Trophy on just his 3rd start as a 2yo.

Paul has this to say about his new venture into the stallion business,"Following the dispersal of my bloodstock interests at Goffs I thought my love affair with the bloodstock industry was over, but I must be addicted.  I was straight back into the fold, acquiring the highest-priced Frankel yearling, a filly out of Finsceal Beo at Goffs, and followed that with the purchase of Marcel in February.  His explosive finishing speed and complete domination had me captured. I thought he was a certainty to become a real star, but it wasn't meant to be."

Marcel injured his knee in his first start of his 3yo career, in the Gr.1 2000 Guineas, and Paul is now set on supporting Marcel with the long term goal of racing his future foals.
