A half brother to dual Gr.1 winning miler COCKNEY REBEL (Val Royal) stole the lime light on his third outing in the USA. SLIM SHADEY (Val Royal) lead from the front and made all in the Gr.2 San Marcos Stakes over 10f at Santa Anita on the turf. He earned his connections a well deserved $150,000. This is his best performance since he was placed 4th behind FRANKEL in the 2011 QIPCO 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
Slim Shadey is by the fastest every Breeders' Cup Mile (turf) winner Val Royal (pictured above) who stood at The National Stud for the final three seasons of his stud career. Slim Shadey is out of the mare Vino Veritas (Chief's Crown) who is currently in foal to COCKNEY REBEL and who's 2011 yearling was consigned by The National Stud for £35,000 at the Doncaster Festival Sale last year.
Slim Shadey was foaled at The National Stud and spent time in our spelling facilities before being shipped to the USA.
