Further first season success for COCKNEY REBEL

19/08/2011

Another of COCKNEY REBEL'S first crop of 2 year olds won in fine style yesterday (18/08/11) at Epsom when GHOST PROTOCOL won the EBF Stallion Studs Median Auction Maiden.  The David Simcock trained colt by Cockney Rebel showed an impressive mix of speed and stamina in the 7f contest and won with quite a bit in hand at only the second time of asking.  Ghost Protocol is out of winning mare Stroke Of Six and was a another value purchase (33,000gns) from the son of Val Royal's first crop of yearlings at Tattersalls Part 1 in 2010.

The audience at Epsom was nearly treated to a Cockney Rebel quick-fire double when MARYGOLD (already a 2 year old winner over 6f) put in another sterling effort at her first attempt at 7f, in the very next race!  She finished the race third only 1/2 length behind the second place horse.
