Conditions Stakes winner for Cockney Rebel

09/08/2011

REBELLIOUS GUEST (Cockney Rebel x Marisa) won decisively at Windsor last night to give the National Stud stallion is first winner of a Conditions race.  The smart colt owned by John Guest Racing and trained by George Margarson stormed home in impressive style to take the honours in the Jean MacIver Sportingbet.com Conditions Stakes. He holds entries including the Gimcrack (Gr.2) at York and the Middle Park and Dewhurst later in the year.

The Racing Post analysis of the race shows that there is still better to come from him.

"This looked a warm conditions event, but REBELLIOUS GUEST could have been called the winner a fair way out and slammed his rivals. Talked up by his trainer after scoring on his debut over C&D in June, he wasn´t disgraced when 12th in the Coventry turned out quickly for his next assignment.Given a break since, he had clearly done well for it, as he couldn´t have been much more impressive. Easy ground clearly suits and this progressive colt looks well up to making his mark in Pattern company. He holds plenty of fancy entries." (www.racingpost.com 09/08/11)
