Bogart boosts earnings at York

BOGART, the smart 2 year old by BAHAMIAN BOUNTY propelled himself into some prestigious company yesterday (18/08/11) at York's Ebor Festival.  He won The DBS Premier Yearling Stakes (run over 6f ) which has produced some talented horses in recent years including COCKNEY REBEL, Wootton Bassett, Acclamation and Dark Angel.

Bahamian Bounty's colt out of Lauren Louise tracked the early leader and lead himself from 2 furlongs out.  He set a strong pace from there and the field were unable to catch him.  This classy result further cements his sire's reputation as a consistent, reliable and commercial sire.  BOGART only cost 32,000gns as a yearling and yesterday re-paid his connections with a win prize of £136,868!

BOGART'S trainer Kevin Ryan was delighted with the result and jockey Philip Makin was full of praise for the colt saying: "He gave me a great feel. He was going that easy I could let him have a breather early on. He has bags of speed and I'm sure he'll stay further." (www.racingpost.com 18/08/11).
