First foals for Phoenix Reach

The first foals by National Stud stallion Phoenix Reach were born at Winterbeck Manor Stud on Wednesday 13 February.

The first to arrive was a most attractive bay colt out of the winning King’s Best mare Pearl’s Girl, who is a half-sister to the promising three-year-old Planetarium from the family of Karasta and Kasthari. He was followed by a good quality bay filly out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Rasmalai who is a half-sister to the Group-placed pair, Raiyoun and Rayouni.

Phoenix Reach, a triple Group 1 winning son of Alhaarth, stood at the National Stud for his first season in 2007 and proved to be highly fertile, with a wonderful temperament.

Andrew Christou, the owner of Winterbeck Manor Stud, commented: “I am delighted with these two foals, which both have quality and really take after their sire.”
