Birthday celebration
The popular pensioner, Amberleigh House who will be at the National Stud until September, celebrated his real (as opposed to official January 1st) Birthday on 24th May.
Visitors on the 11.15 Guided Tour watched him open his gift, presented by Leigh Webster from New Zealand, to reveal a substantial apple, carrot and polo brochette.
Head stallion man Rob Fishwick ensured he didn't eat the stick or the cellophane wrap, and Amberleigh House munched through one Golden Delicious, 2 Royal Galas, 3 large carrots and half a dozen mints in quick succession. He seemed thoroughly pleased with the whole occasion.
