First mares in foal for Pastoral Pursuits
Pastoral Pursuits, the Group One July Cup winner and Joint European Champion Sprinter of 2005, has had his first mares scanned in foal. The son of Bahamian Bounty is standing his first season at The National Stud this year.
The first to be confirmed in foal from Red House Stud was Veuve Hoornaert, a winning daughter of Standaan who is already the dam of Pinchbeck, a ten-time sprint winner for Michael Jarvis. Red House Stud achieved notable success last year as the breeders of both Pastoral Pursuits and full brother Goodricke. Also scanned in foal is Streccia from Templeton Stud, who like Veuve Hoornaert is a half-sister to a black-type performer.
Pastoral Pursuits has been very well-received by breeders in his first season, having already covered 23 mares. There are only a few nominations left from a book limited to 120.
