Wavertree House is a spacious Georgian-style property located at the centre of the 500 acre National Stud estate. Approaching the house down the mile-long drive takes guests past Newmarket's July Course and through manicured paddocks, in which the stars of the past and future graze.
The private and atmospheric function rooms provide an intimate setting, ideally suited to small parties, seminars and meetings.
Throughout the rooms the history of Thoroughbred racing is depicted in paintings that span the past two centuries - many from Lord Wavertree's collection.
Various catering options are available: from sandwich working lunches through to drinks parties and silver service dinners.
Private stud tours and stallion parades are also available on request by prior arrangement.
The Function Rooms
The Bahram Room
This elegant room is both functional and flexible. Suitable for formal and informal occasions – lunches or dinners, seminars, training courses or small conferences.
This room seats 20 at two long tables, up to 30 'lecture style', or for a 'buffet and drinks' there is capacity for up to 40.
Its walls are adorned with paintings of leading racehorses of the twentieth century, including Bahram, Sunstar and Waterloo.
The Flying Dutchman Room
Spacious and comfortably furnished, this light and airy room provides an ideal venue for business or pleasure with ample space for a conference or buffet table. This room also contains many original paintings from Lord Wavertree's collection of sporting art.
This room also seats up to 20 people, and up to 30 lecture style.
West facing French windows open onto the terrace and gardens, with a serene backdrop of grazing mares in the paddocks.
Wavertree House Grounds
Wavertree House is surrounded by a beautiful private garden that is the perfect setting for parties in the summer months with the option of adding a marquee to increase capacity.
