The recent growth of the racing and breeding industry has resulted in an increased need for qualified, industry-trained staff. In 2004, Lord Donoughue compiled a report on stud and stable staff training and this highlighted the need for more training to be available for people wishing to pursue a career in the industry.
The Education & Training Programmes at The National Stud combine practical, hands-on training with academic tuition; a combination not available anywhere else in the UK. In a recent inspection by the Adult Learning Inspectorate, our training received a Grade 1 (outstanding) award.
