Westbrook House Student Accommodation

The newly refurbished and extended student accommodation block, now called Westbrook House, replaces the old student hostel. It is located near to the Stud’s reception and is a short walk from the Joan Westbrook Lecture Theatre. The build completed the Stud’s aim to provide it’s residential students with excellent teaching, learning and living  facilities. Completed inside a stringent 6 month schedule, so as not to interfere with the annual Diploma and Apprenticeship programmes, the build was completed on 31st January 2011 just in time for the 2011 Diploma course start date. Westbrook House now provides 24 ensuite rooms plus new catering and communal facilities. Additional essential resources such as wireless internet coverage and a well stocked library are also located within the building. Students benefit from the use of a boot room with rapid drying facilities for wet gear during the winter months, and can relax and unwind in one of several communal areas. The lounge is fitted with a 50 inch television and surround sound while other spaces such as the garden room and courtyard offer students a quieter alternative. Car parking is available onsite and the building is fitted with CCTV, which along with other security measures help to provide a safe and secure environment for the residents.
