Zoe Isaacson: Diploma Course 2006

"I have always had a keen interest in all types of racing, and after having worked as a Stud Hand in Ireland and New Zealand I joined the Diploma Course to improve my career prospects by gaining a specialist industry qualification. After gaining further experience at the Doncaster Sales and Goffs, I was able to use the Tim Dunlop Memorial Scholarship to return to New Zealand and take up my new supervisory role as Yearling Manager at Waikato Stud. I returned to the National Stud in 2009 to attend the Equisoft Stud Secretaries Course as I hope to get more involved in this aspect of the industry in future. I am currently working as a stud hand at Cheveley Park Stud."

Bubba Barry: Diploma Course 2006

"It was when I was working on a Gambian Farm Animal project that it was suggested that I should join the Diploma Course. The encouragement and direction I received on the course led me to develop a passion for breeding and ultimately a job at the National Stud, where I am now a Stallion Man. I am very keen to help educate further generations of students in the breeding industry."

Jason Imeson: Apprenticeship Course 2004

"It was not until on the course that my interest in racing developed and I found a career in racing offered structure and direction with a wide range of job prospects. After completing the course I gained further all round experience at Side Hill Stud. I am now working as a stallion man at Juddmonte Farms where I have been allocated two stallions. I am responsible for the day-to-day care of Dansili and Beat Hollow."

Cassie Fordham: Apprenticeship Course 2003, Diploma Course 2006

"Having wanted to work with horses since a young age, I joined the Apprenticeship course in order to gain experience and a qualification, but in addition to this it provided me with an opportunity to make many contacts within the industry. Since completing the courses I have worked on studs in Germany and New Zealand. I now work at the National Stud as yard supervisor."

Sarah Beech: Diploma Course 1997

"I was attracted by the uniqueness of the Diploma Course and that it was industry specific. Having gained a good foundation of knowledge of the breeding industry I have now had a variety of roles at different studs including Stud Hand, Head Girl which involved sale preparation work, followed by three years as a nurse at Greenwood Ellis & Partners, before assisting with rehabilitation and breaking at Shadwell. Having returned in 2009 to complete the Equisoft Stud Secretaries Course at the National Stud, I would eventually like to find a permanent job as a Stud Secretary."
